Never a deer until last year. But now? Camas lily buds nibbled off in the night. $45 worth of red flowering currant now worth $30. I figured we were safe with the currant -- it's a native plant. Ha! So I recorded this day on a journal page and then photographed it. ©Carol Leigh

Hm! Just like in California. Sunset has a site that lists deer resistant flowers/shrubs.

Yes, the deer where we lived in the Santa Cruz mountains read that list in the Sunset gardening book - and then ate the plants on it!
Same here in Sonoma County. They eat our poison oak. But not enough to make a dent in it. I'll ship you a box of gophers to go along with them.
