I am addicted to photographing graffiti on train cars. With so many files to look at, I begin seeing patterns. And this is one: stars on trains. (Letters, numbers, faces, writings, arrows are some other patterns that are emerging. Fair warning.) Here are five examples of "stars."
Do you do the same thing? Do you find yourself returning to the same subject matter, finding new things in the familiar? Mailboxes is something we all seem to gravitate to. The color red. Reflections in windows. Reflections in water. Riffle through your own photographs and look for "collections" of subject matter. Ten good images built around one theme could become an interesting photo essay.

Great subject matter, can't wait to see your other photo essays.
Interesting... I wonder what it is that draws us to certain things. I photograph bits of signs... shops, traffic, whatever. Love the graffiti.
It's because we're both WEIRD! But in a good way... Hate the graffiti, but love to photograph it. See? Weird! Luckily there are legions of us out there. --Carol Leigh
When thinking about my photographing habits, I DO shoot the same or similar things repetitively. Signs, edges of walls, skylights and ornate ceilings in churches or public buildings. Architectural abstracts. Light or color reflecting off corrugated metal. Weird patterns in concrete or rocks or paint. Knobs, tubes, machine parts. Sometimes I think I'm spinning my wheels with the repetitiveness of those shots since I often don't know what to do with them once I've got 'em. But hey! I was excited at the time so I guess that's part of the fun. --LH
Love the stars!
And thanks for the idea - I'm going to put my repetive shots together. My favorite are doors, windows, walls,... well when I started to think about it, I found too many categories.
