As our ship sailed past the west coast of Vancouver Island, the clouds were beginning to build, the sea was dark, dark, dark, but the lighting on the background mountains was lovely. The bright slash of sky was a sort of sickly yellow-green, so I converted the image to black and white to emphasize the light and shadow and to de-emphasize the distracting weird yellow-green coloration. I think I'll be converting a lot of my photos this way, the photos I took on this amazing cruise up to Alaska. (Click to enlarge.) ©Carol Leigh
