Sometimes I come across a number — like this big "4" — that's so wondrously grungy that it stands alone. I found this one on a fishing boat in Astoria, Oregon and just loved it, so it's repeated three more times in this photomontage. I added some lines, scratches, some handwritten "4s" and more, stopping just short of overload. Not yet available for sale. ©Carol Leigh

Four Twelve Times
