Most recent work: Across the Board

I'll often begin with a concept, a design, a color palette and then start adding images, deleting some, moving things around, until the piece is finally "done." Here I used various torn and weathered papers, a rabbit from a vintage Players cigarette card, an Egyptian falcon, reflections, the bottom part of a red heart, and more. ©Carol Leigh, sad that the flowers in the previous post were eaten by deer the next day.

  1. It's a process that works for me too. Love your result.

  2. Thank you, Jo. It's kind of weird, but weird in a (I hope) good way.

  3. It is said that an artist knows when to stop. So Carol had do you know when to stop, when the picture is done? Is it training, is it intuition, is it some internal messaging, is it a visceral reaction to the work? Or is it a combination of all those things? I ask this question often of people whose work I admire.
